On March 29, 1905, Stockton firm Schuler, Tschierschky, and Scally issued this hardware billhead recording a paid transaction for plumbing and stove-related services.

At the turn of the twentieth century, Central Valley cities relied on hardware and stove dealers to supply the practical technologies that made modern living possible, from cooking ranges and pumps to gas fittings and plumbing components. Such firms supported both private households and rental properties as indoor utilities replaced older heating and water systems, shaping daily life through access to manufactured goods and skilled installation.

This billhead is printed for Schuler, Tschierschky & Scally, manufacturers and dealers in hardware, stoves, pumps, tinware, and plumbing, with an illustrated stove vignette and product listings across the top and a Stockton address on East Main Street. Handwritten entries list labor and materials, and a bold PAID stamp dated March 28, 1905 marks settlement of the account. Filing holes and ledger ruling indicate routine office handling rather than decorative presentation.
