Printed during the 1920s, this colorful Gibson Art holiday postcard features Santa Claus beside a decorated Christmas tree while operating a large radio or phonograph-style control console surrounded by a whimsical toy border.

The central illustration presents a smiling Santa in a bright red suit adjusting oversized knobs beneath a glowing circular speaker or horn element, reflecting the fascination with modern home entertainment technology during the early radio era. Surrounding the image is a vivid red decorative border packed with miniature toys, dolls, animals, balloons, rocking horses, toy soldiers, and alphabet blocks rendered in a playful nursery style. The verse reading Here’s a cheery wish today, ’Cause Christmas time is on the way reinforces the card’s upbeat holiday presentation and transitional interwar graphic design aesthetic.

The reverse retains the Gibson Art Company Cincinnati imprint and includes a penciled gift inscription reading To Mrs Watson from Vincent Barry & Maurice Barry. Light corner wear and age toning are present consistent with original period handling and storage.
