This 1912 Christmas postcard features Santa Claus seated beside two children and decorated Christmas tree imagery framed by holly border ornamentation in a richly colored holiday scene.
Early twentieth-century Christmas postcards frequently emphasized idealized domestic holiday gatherings centered around children, decorated trees, and comforting Santa Claus imagery intended for seasonal family correspondence. The composition here combines strong red-and-green holiday coloration with detailed lithographic printing, using holly corner decoration and toy imagery to reinforce the sentimental Christmas atmosphere associated with postcard-era greeting cards.
The postcard itself presents Santa Claus seated with two young girls beside a candle-lit Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and garland, while “Christmas Greetings” lettering appears along the lower border. The reverse features a divided-back layout with decorative Post Card typography, one-cent Washington stamp, handwritten holiday message, and a visible 1912 postmark above Series 227 F publisher numbering.
