This 1940s real photo postcard captures Eshleman Hall on the University of California campus in Berkeley during the wartime era.

The University of California in Berkeley expanded rapidly in the early twentieth century, and Eshleman Hall served as a prominent student activity center, housing organizations and campus gatherings. Its ivy-covered façade and castellated entrance reflect the institutional architectural style that defined much of the campus core during this period.

The image shows the ivy-draped brick structure framed by mature landscaping, with period automobiles parked along the street in front of the building. Architectural details of the entrance tower and window arrangement are clearly visible, and the presence of EKC photo paper supports a mid-twentieth-century production date consistent with the 1940s setting.
