This postcard was mailed in 1909 and shows the dramatic Gulf Curve railroad section near Little Falls in the Mohawk Valley of New York.

Little Falls developed as an important transportation and industrial center along the Mohawk River corridor, a route historically used by canals, railroads, and highways connecting eastern New York with the Great Lakes region. The narrow gorge known as the Gulf near Little Falls created a striking landscape where rail lines curved along rock cliffs beside the river.

The postcard depicts the sweeping railroad curve as a passenger train rounds the bend beneath steep rocky cliffs rising above the tracks. Telegraph poles line the railway while a bridge structure and stone retaining wall appear along the route. The caption printed at the top identifies the location as Gulf Curve in the Mohawk Valley, and the card shows postal markings and handwriting consistent with its use as a mailed postcard in the early twentieth century.
