This December 16, 1901 printed invitation announces an evening program hosted by The Chicago Architectural Club at the Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois.

Architectural clubs at the turn of the twentieth century functioned as professional and social forums for designers, draftsmen, and students engaged in the rapidly evolving built environment of American cities. The program outlines an Evening De La Vie de Boh Me at Cafe Momus, an Atelier Vaudeville by members of the life class from the Art Institute, and musical performance by The Oakland Quartette, followed by a luncheon in a Latin Quarter theme. The formal red typographic layout, centered text block, and decorative border reflect period design sensibilities associated with professional societies.

The card is printed in red ink on cream stock with a club emblem at top and is dated December 16th, 1901, with J H Phillips listed as secretary. The reverse bears a one-cent postal imprint and handwritten address, confirming period mailing. Light edge wear and corner softening are consistent with age, and overall condition remains solid for an early twentieth-century institutional invitation.
