This divided-back postcard dates to the 1910s and depicts the Barrel of Fun attraction at Idora Park in Oakland, California.

Idora Park operated as one of the East Bay’s principal amusement destinations in the early twentieth century, combining rides, novelty attractions, and themed architectural façades within a compact entertainment grounds. Attractions such as the Barrel of Fun relied on exaggerated western styling and playful spectacle to draw visitors into interactive amusements. Hand-tinted color and staged crowd scenes were common features in promotional postcards from the park during this period.

The image shows a large barrel-shaped wooden structure prominently labeled Barrel of Fun, with visitors gathered at the entrance beneath parasols and period dress. Adjacent storefront-style façades extend the illusion of a themed streetscape, while a dog crosses the foreground of the open plaza. The divided-back format reflects post-1907 production standards, and the card remains unposted.
