This 1970s QSL postcard represents Siple Station in Antarctica, identifying radio call sign KC4AAD and documenting U.S. Antarctic Research Program magnetospheric experiments.

Siple Station operated as a scientific outpost dedicated to upper-atmosphere and magnetospheric research, including very low frequency transmission experiments designed to study interactions between radio waves and the ionosphere. The station became known within amateur radio communities for its distinctive Antarctic call signs and limited QSL confirmations issued to radio operators worldwide. Such cards functioned as verification of two-way radio contact while also promoting awareness of scientific work conducted at remote polar installations.

The design features a stylized globe centered on the Western Hemisphere with a red transmission path extending approximately 17,000 kilometers to Roberval, Quebec. A bold panel at right lists Siple Station, Antarctica, U.S. Antarctic Research Program, coordinates 76°S 84°W, and call sign KC4AAD, along with technical details referencing magnetospheric research and a 13 mile long VLF dipole transmitter. The chrome finish and printed layout are consistent with unposted 1970s production.
