This January 7, 1958 National Airlines system timetable highlights the carrier’s DC-7B fleet during the final years of advanced piston-engine transcontinental service.

In the late 1950s, airlines emphasized long-range capability, radar equipment, and modern aircraft design as key competitive advantages just before the widespread transition to pure jet service. National branded itself Airline of the Stars, using bold red and navy graphics paired with streamlined aircraft imagery to project speed and reliability.
