This photograph was taken in February 1955 and shows a King Bros Circus equipment trailer painted with the show’s Three Ring Circus lettering during its thirty-fifth season.

Traveling circuses relied on painted trailers and wagons as both transport equipment and moving advertising displays. Decorative scrollwork lettering and bold show titles were commonly applied to trailers carrying props, canvas, and other performance equipment, allowing the circus name and program style to remain visible even when the show was not assembled for performance.
