Disneyland Mickey Mouse Club Circus Entrance Bob-O Clown 1956 Photo 3.5 x 5

This 1956 photograph shows the main entrance to the Mickey Mouse Club Circus at Disneyland, including the striped ticket booth, midway stalls, and the circus tent bearing the Mickey Mouse Club emblem.

The Mickey Mouse Club Circus operated during the early period of Disneyland and was closely tied to the popular Mickey Mouse Club television program that debuted in 1955. Designed as a family attraction within the park, the circus blended traditional circus presentation with Disney branding and characters familiar to television audiences. The entrance area featured decorative ticket booths, string lighting, and a central midway leading visitors toward the circus tent.

The image appears to capture a quiet moment near the circus entrance, possibly a few moments before daily operations begin, as the performer known as Bob-O walks toward the tent with a child while visitors stand casually along the midway. Strings of lights radiate from the tent poles above the midway, and the Mickey Mouse Club emblem is visible above the entrance banner. A stamp on the reverse identifies photographer Bob Taber of Riverside, California, and the typed caption reads "Main entrance Disney circus." Please note the negative had some faint, vertical storage scratches that appear as thin white lines on the pavement only. The photo itself remains glossy with no abrasions. The scanned image can be expanded to view at high-resolution.
