Disneyland Mickey Mouse Club Circus Compartment Cage Wagon 1955 Photo – 3.5 x 5

This photograph was taken around 1955 and shows a two compartment cage wagon used in connection with the Mickey Mouse Club Circus during the early operational years of Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

The Mickey Mouse Club Circus was introduced during the park’s first seasons as a promotional attraction tied to the television program The Mickey Mouse Club. Traditional circus elements were incorporated into the presentation, including ornate wagons, horse teams, and big-top tent structures that evoked the pageantry of classic American circus parades. During the opening years of the park many operational areas remained only partially landscaped, and service roads and staging zones often bordered newly developed attractions.

The image features an elaborately decorated cage wagon with two barred compartments pulled by a team of draft horses along what appears to be a park service road or staging route. The wagon displays heavy ornamental scrollwork framing the barred openings, with sculptural crest figures along the roofline typical of circus display wagons. Circus tents and support vehicles are visible in the background, suggesting the equipment was staged or moved within the circus grounds during preparation or operation of the attraction.
